This emerging series explores the early 20th century oil boom in Texas through a juxtaposition of historic photographs with ink stains derived from plants and metals. I grew up in Texas in the shadow of oil wells. I am troubled by our close relationship to petroleum based products and seemingly out-of-control consumption.
