Gaopo, Guizhou Each fall during the harvest, farmers place the rice stalks on poles in the fields. I have tried to determine the exact purpose of this; my best guess is that it provides amazing compost to be worked into the fields. I think they also serve as beautiful totems.
Gaopo, Guizhou The flooded fields are becoming seas of green rice shoots. If you look close, you will see a group of skinny dipping kids in one of the flooded terraces. Gotta love planting time!
Yangshuo, Guanxi The way the fog settles in and amongst the Karst hills is amazingly beautiful.
Xingping, Guanxi This is similar to an earlier post, but I am fascinated by the lines and colors created by this woman so ritualistically washing her cloth.
